ATI Video Card

Post by lqcorsa » Wed Jan 18, 2006 12:47 pm

I know I just keep the new topics comen and comen. If anybody's got a ATI video card I need some help. When I try to change settings by right clicking the little ATI think in the system tray, and clicking display settings. I want it to go to OpenGL instead of Direct 3D, and instead of optimum quallity I want it on optimum porformance. I change the settings and click apply, then ok, and now it closes. As soon as I open it up again all the settings have been switched back. I used to get about 70 FPS in lomac and FS, and now I get like 30. Anybody have any ideas on whats going on?

Are you sure your OpenGL settings are being reset? The display menu shows Direct3D when you first open it no matter what. Also you realize that most programs are setup for OpenGL or D3D right? The specific program tells the card which language to use. Changing the OpenGL settings will not affect LOMAC as it uses D3D.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. By the way when you guys are flying in lomac doing your stunts, what voice program do you use? I'm looking for a program that gives that 'realistic' voice sound, sort of like squawkbox, but something you can download to mod your voice like that. The reason I wanted to change my vid card to OpenGL is because in some FPS games I've played it runs better in open, I know my video card is good enough for lomac, its 256 mb, pci-e I just can't understand why sometimes I get such bad frames sometimes.

Probelm fixed, and it has been for several months. I had to grab a processor patch, and update my vid card, which came with a controller so its much easier to set. Just so nobody posts with ideas.
