Virtual Horsemen

Post by VH-Rock » Tue Mar 24, 2009 3:45 pm

It gives me great pleasure to announce the begining of a new IL2 aerobatics team and espeically one with a difference. The aim of The Virtual Horsemen is to accurately represent the Horesmen P51 Aerobatic team and fly this display at airshows in the IL2 aerobatic calender :) The team itself was assembled itself about a month ago for a Movie project, The movie was going to show off the manouvers that the Horsemen currently fly with their new line up of 3 P51 Mustangs and since then, the decission has been taken to fly the display at airshows too. We are working very closely with the Real Horsemen members and have received a great deal of help and support for which we can not thank them enough. The movie is still a while away but should be up when ASB.TV is launched with full HD support to make the best of this new type of online TV. Now it is time to Introduce the team:

Lead: VH-Rock P51-C Princess Elizabeth

Right Wing: VH-Yeager P51 D Double Trouble II

Left Wing: VH-SkyHawk P51 D City of Winnipeg

Great screenies! :)

Please tell us more about how you're working with the Horsemen: Jim Beasley, Dan Friedkin and Ed Shipley. Looking forward to hearing more!

Thx Lawndart,

The Horsemen have been providing us with data such as what manouvers the new 3 ship demo will fly; what speeds, altitudes, RPM and manifold pressure they run for certain manouvers. They have also given us their brand new (yet to be released) logo for the Movie so the Movie won't be released until they release the new logo out of respect for the team. :) They've been really great in answering any questions we have had and seem to be happy that people are interested enough in what they do to want to put the effort into making a virtual version of their team. :)

Very nice looking screenies for sure. Great idea. Can't wait to see you all perform. The P-51 is my favorite airplane... next to the F-16 of course. 8)

Best of luck to you all and LD, I could not agree more with your comment. :?

We are hoping that VFAT will come to IL2 one year in which case would definitely love to perform there. We know that it is possible to stream IL2 as a Russian team has done it before. We are really hoping that the movie will be out by June or July, but it all depends on how the new manouvers are. After all, we don't want to rush things.

I think IL2 would be an excellent idea to add to VFAT. I'll bring it up in the organizers forum. Good luck to you guys! A couple of VBA guys including myself tried doing this but just don't have the time to do something separate along with our VBA obligations. Good luck and hope you guys do a great job!
