VR on the rise

Post by SSgt"Joey" » Mon May 26, 2008 7:25 pm

Hey guys! VR is on the rise and I wanted to point you toward this to check it out. Mine is in the mail right now.
It's a VR headset with headphones a Mic and tracker all built in and it's under $400. It has gotten decent reviews and I can't wait for future developments!

1024X768. Not bad. I think the ones Gunner tested were only 800X600. I'm looking forward to hearing your review, especially concerning vision comfort during long sessions.

I'm looking forward to your review as well... 800 x 600 was unacceptable for me, & after 15 min I felt like my eyes were crossed the whole time. I will be especially interested to see what you think of the field of view. (I tried the Z800 from eMagin).

I got my headset! But

I took it out of the box plugged it in and got ready to ROCK VR style, that is until it didnt work. I got no images displayed, just some fuzzy lines going across every now and then. I troubleshot for approx 1 hr then decided to call tech support and sure enough, they were Busted, I noticed a sizable dent in teh box as well. I put 2 and 2 together and came up with enough rage to CRUSH an F-15 with my bare hands. But I had to put it back in the box and send it back for a new one, estimated 7-10 business days. Man, me and electronics get along like Manned aircraft and UAV's. hehe.
