FSX loading problem

Post by FALCON56 » Thu Mar 29, 2007 1:32 am

Ok I know my first problem was buying FSX  So that being said the real problem is the loading of the game...The game installs fine.. no warnings of anything..But when I click on the icon to start the game it says it can run becuase the side-by-side feature doesnt exist or isnt set up properly and that I should check the events log for details.. Well. cant find the log and what is a side by side feature..What could I do before I take the game back....Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Depending on where you bought the software from you may have a tough time returning it.

A recommendation is to uninstall and perform a clean install of FSX. I would recommend installing it into a folder named slightly different then the original one, this way there are fresh registry entries made and it won't use any of the previous entries having to do with the botched up install.

Also do a Google search on the issue you are having. Chances are if you are having a problem someone else has reported the same issue somewhere.

Rotor,

I tried that and no go... i called MS and talked to a techi and they told me I needed to DL the Visual c+++ package. I guess there is an issure ( no surprise there) with Vista home premium and several of its updates and FSX...Since downloading the Visualc+++ deal Ive had no problems...I guess MS is going to start doing patch files for FSX here pretty soon.. Enough people have complained.. LOL.. Thanks for the help.
