Rhino,
I'm probably going to go down that Saturday and leave my house in Peoria early so I can get there for the show. Just going to go one day not both... Thats alot of gas... LOL... But hopefully it will be nice... Then the following weekend the Thunderbirds are out at Luke. I've already got my time off for that...

I assume you are talking about the Goodyear show. I heard a lot the same, talk about a dust bowl! I have a lot of friends in the aviation photography circle and I've heard about dust still being cleaned out to this day!PhnxBndt79 wrote:i am hoping this show will be a lot better then when the blues where here in AZ last year...well more the area they are flying at not the actual show....
LOL you couldnt have said it better! Yeah that "bus service" and to call it that was a joke... My dad and I walked it! We went 3/4 of the way back to the car before we saw our first bus... What a joke that was... In fact we parked in the lot across from the Lockeed buidling just to give ya an idea how far the walk was... Although Im sure it could have been worse... That's what I like about the shows at Luke, Nellis and DM. If you've got a base sticker and a military ID you're good to go. Just cant wait to see a different base and different style of flying. Should be fun.. and the best part, NO DUST BOWL and crappy bus service LOL!

yeah...walked as well...wasnt going to wait for those buses....my parents, me, my brother, cousin, fiance and little girl all walked back to the car....i made sure i walked down one lane of the road so the buses had to go around me..
i havent been down to DM AFB for a show...there was a guy that bought my dads 1980 trans am back in 1990 for his wife and he was assigned to the base....my dad bought the car back from him about a year and a half ago and he gave my dad a picture he took of the Trans Am next to a F-16...will have to get the picture from my dad and scan it and post it on here...will it cost anything for this show like last time or is it free like Luke???

It is free to the public, however you can buy seating inside the Commanders VIP tent.. Here is the link for the show and info for it as well.

I did... The Blues were great.. They flew soo tight just for being show number two... The Viper West Team did its thing...Great show performed by them...It wasnt a dust bowl like goodyear was which was great, but trying to get on base with my Military ID was a pain.. NO ONE on until 9AM.. The flying didnt start till 1100 which was kind of late since there really wasnt much to look at.. They pulled several planes from AMARC.. yeah boy did I want to see old heaps.. NOT!!! but the BLUES RULED THE SHOW.. Bert wasnt there. It was down for maintence and a couple of "Berts Boys" said it will be back within the month.. I will follow up more later...
