Burner, anything with a wider AR than 1.33 will crop the top and bottom of your screen. Secondly, anytime you zoom back it will create a fish-eye effect for your view. For all of us that have had widescreens for a while, you'll have to accept the fact that LOMAC
isn't formatted for widescreen displays and even when you select an AR of 1.6, it formats the screen to where it will fit the
width of your screen without stretching the image and then crops the top and bottom off.
Zooming lets you see more, but creates more problems if you ask me because fish-eye and adverse smoke effects, so I never stray from default zoom. FOV settings only allows you to widen the angular width of the viewers lens. What we all want is to have the the same vertical view and
increase the horizontal portion when displayed on a widescreen. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge LOMAC does not allow this! Get used to seeing less of the preceding aircraft in any trail formation...
Here are some comparison screenshots from the
same exact time using my two different monitors, each with its appropriate aspect ratio and resolution selected in LOMAC. I didn't change the FOV angle settings however, but this will give you an idea of what it looks like with widescreen. Get used to seeing less in the vertical (!), although the paint is the same.
