Flooding In Seattle

Hmm, so what does it mean when theres about 5 inches of water sitting around your house? Well, that means that there's been some flooding! Last night the power at my house shorted out, causing the power to flicker on and off rapidly for about 15 minutes. Right as I was getting out of bed to hit the breaker, it finally stopped.

Forecast flooding increased from moderate to major severity... the
Flood Warning continues for
the Nisqually river near National
* until Tuesday afternoon.
* At 03:00 am Monday the stage was... 9.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage around 6 am Monday
and crest near 12.0 feet around 10:00 PM Monday. The river will
fall below flood stage tomorrow late morning.
* At 11.0 feet... the Nisqually river will flood along the upper
reaches of the river from Mt Rainier National Park downstream to
Alder Lake. Swift waters will flood roads... pasture lands... and
farms. Erosion may damage the river banks.
A vigorous Pacific frontal system will arrive by tonight and
remain over the region through Monday...
A strong weather system will impact the region in several important
ways over the next several days. This storm is associated with
strong southwest winds and a stream of moisture that extends into
the subtropical Pacific. This will be the wettest in the recent
series of fronts to affect the region. Heavy rains will arrive this
evening and persist through the day Monday as the front stalls over
the area. 24 hours of unusually heavy rain is expected in the
mountains. A Flood Watch remains in effect for the rivers of western
Washington.
A deep low pressure center offshore has a large area of gale and
storm force winds. The system will bring gales to the coastal and
inland waters tonight and Monday. It will be windy across the land
areas as well... with southerly winds to 30 mph and local gusts to 50
mph later tonight and Monday.
Large ocean swell will build Monday... reaching the coast by Tuesday.
High astronomical tides will combine with the high surf increasing
the risk of coastal flooding Tuesday.
