I remember when version 5.54 came out looooong ago, it was my first flightsim. Then I progressed into MSFS and stayed there, as newer versions of X-Plane were too big and resource-intensive for my computers. I must say the newest version, 9, is really up there in quality with Microsoft's Flight Simulator. New reflective water and full global scenery make it very tempting. It comes on 6 DVD's and the full install is 80Gb. When I get my new computer I'm installing FSX & XP9. In my opinion X-Plane has much more advanced flight modeling and physics, providing a much more realistic and enjoyable experience (for an aerobatic pilot like myself ). Also the programs that come with X-Plane like the aircraft creator really add to this sim. Being able to create new aircraft or customize stock ones (I put 4 engines on my King Air B-200 ) makes the sim so much more fun.
