I remember there being a discussion regarding HD-DVD vs. Blu Ray somewhere in the forums but I couldn't find the thread.
At any rate, the format war has taken an interesting turn in the last week. For those of you waiting for things to shake out before you invest in an "HD" DVD player, you may be interested to know that in addition to the recent price drop of the Xbox 360, Toshiba has dropped prices of HD-DVD players below $300.00. Also, movie studios DreamWorks and Paramount have both gone exclusive on the HD-DVD format. "Blades of Glory", "Transformers" and "Shrek the Third" will all be HD-DVD exclusvie titles. Newegg.com currently has two HD-DVD players for $199.00 and $299.00.

Yeah its a real mess now. I'm guessing MS has entered into some kind of profit sharing deal with Paramount or has paid Paramount a large fee for exclusive rights. HD has been loosing the fight since PS3 was released but this new turn means at least another year of the format war- here I was hoping for an official surrender by HD-DVD just after Xmas.
