Hey, I understand you guys use Sony Vegas for your movies and what have you. I really want to get to the point to where I can shy away from the Windows Movie Maker, and have the software, but just get intimidated every time I open it up, because I don't even know where to begin. If you guys could reference me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Goggle is only two clicks away if you search for "Sony Vegas" +"Tutorials" I'm sure you'll find a wealth of information (such as these quicktime clips I just Googled: http://www.vtc.com/products/vegas5.htm ). However, I know where you're coming from regarding learning new software that is much more powerful and useful than what you're used to. I've learned to use Dreamweaver, PhotoShop and Vegas to a fairly proficient and quick level of working with them over the past year and I remember when I first fired 'em up. It was like a mountain to climb and I was ready to give up just looking at the features and menus and tool bars, but my best advice is to grab the resources (manuals, tutorials or even swing by Barnes & Nobles for references), but only use them hands on! You'll learn much quicker to a basic level by just experimenting and learning the basic "hot keys" for splitting, fading, and tweaking clips and sounds than actually reading a book from cover to cover. Then when you start getting more comfortable in the basic ways the program works, you'll find the manuals and other resources make a lot more sense whenever you can't figure something out! Trust me, I know where you're coming from... If you start playing around with Vegas the main concept in how it works will come naturally and then it's not so intimidating anymore. After some time you'll feel right at home!
