I would hate to be the boomer trying to plug in without missing and messing up the paint job.
I've seen a few "oops" from the boomer missing IFR receptacle, long deep gouges along the fuselage.

I imagine that draws comments about the boom operator's...prowess...in his(or her) personal life.
