Phantom Server Problem Solved?

Post by pedrosura » Tue Aug 22, 2006 6:50 pm

I have been experimenting with my own phantom server and was having problems getting it to work. The aircraft were flying into the ground and were not flying the same as the track. The problem was being caused by having a joystick plugged into the phantom computer. Once I removed the joystick the problem was gone. I have heard others having problems as well. I'm not sure if that's the cause of all the problems but at least it was for me. BTW I can get phantom to work starting from the ground or airborne.

Hey Bud-
Got your email - just been busy...

Thumper suggested the same thing to me a couple days ago, and it seems to do the trick...something so simple huh?

I have also found that any changes in loadouts in the aircraft flown to make the phantom track and the aircraft being flown while using the phantom track can be disastrous as well.

For instance, if you create the track flying an aircraft with 50% fuel, but your multiplayer mission aircraft has 100% fuel on-board it just doesnt work right. It even affects the aircraft during taxiing, believe it or not.

In short, it is essential that both aircraft (the track aircraft, and the one being flown by Phantom Control) are set up identically in order for the phantom aircraft to fly the track accurately. When this is done, and controls are not connected to the host machine, Phantom Control will replicate the previously flown track spot-on.
