LD-
I've got your profile working fine on my new Cougar, but I can't seem to get PTT to work. I had it set up fine on my (cough, cough) X-52 last night, and had a blast with Striker and the Snowbirds for my 1st online formation flying.
Now that I have my Kitty set up, PTT doesn't seem to work. If I select "use direct input" in Ventrilo setup, it shows T2 as [Numpad 5] when held, and [F1] when released. I'm missing something somewhere...

Go into Ventrilo and change your push to talk key to "capslock."

Secondly, what you're hitting is T3 (since you see Numpad 5 show up). T2 is the PTT and its direction is upward on the Cougar. PTT is Capslock in Ventrilo and that's how the Kitty is programmed...

Thanks guys, I was Bass ackward... It looks like it will work now.
...But another problem just cropped up!
If I'm not mistaken, only rudder control is Ant.
I was ok earlier today, but I was just flying, and the rudder keeps deflecting to the left. I correct it, and it just goes back as soon as I get into the throttle at all. Makes it real hard to fly close

The antenna knob is known to be "mis-aligned" quite frequently on the Cougars.
Click here for more info on that from Cougar World. Basically, the detent is not centered.
I'm assuming you don't have rudder pedals and if that is the case, my two recommendations (short of the third and best one of getting pedals) is to either take the rudder axis completely off the stick and only use the keyboard for rudder when on the ground (it's not critical to have rudders in formation flight until a more advanced level). Lastly, if you insist of having it on the stick, use the range knob instead since the detent and design is much better suited as an axis; however, I would still stray away from using hardly any rudder while airborne during formation flight.

If you're serious about rudder pedals search eBay for TM Elite's.

Those are TM RCS (older), but still work just as well. Except in the link you posted they are insanely expensive. If you can find a pair for under $100 including shipping, it's ok. I haven't looked around for a while, but I would guess you should be able to find some rudders for roughly ~$50 plus shipping (ballpark). There are few around and sometimes none are up for sale, but quite frequently they pop up on eBay again.

I'll keep looking - I'm assuming they don't make them anymore?

Correct. Unfortunately, there are no TM pedals in production anymore. CH pedals work fine too, but I believe there's a tweak you'll need to do for them to function properly. Not quite sure. Some CH are USB too and don't connect to the base of the Kitty. Maybe Rock, Redeye or Striker can answer any CH pedal questions better. I think they all have them. The rest of us use TM pedals...

I'll stick with TM - I can wait till I find the right deal...It's not like I'm flying with much finesse at this point.
From Feb 8th:
Rudders are for finesse! Your other flight controls are what get you to where you need to be!
a quote from you I believe.

True true! I'll stand by that, even if the quote was someone else's.

I have the TM elite pedals. I bought them on ebay for around $65.00. I looked/bidded for almost 3 weeks before winning. I set a limt of $65.00 as the high and keep getting out bid. I dont' know that I would pay more than that for them. You can get them for that. Keep looking. Good luck. Look forward to seeing you in the air sometime.

LOL Striker...

Having said that, you couldn't make as precise of a roll without using all controls including rudders and keeping your wings absolutely level with Boss all the way around a roll (not banking inboard toward him or away from him). Since rudder inputs carry a bit of delay and create some awkward looking maneuvering when used too aggressively, remember that they are used to gracefully alleviate the use of ailerons, not to replace the roll inputs when flying. It's easier to mask a correction using ailerons than it is using rudder, but when all used together in "proper amounts" you wouldn't have to mask anything. If you can fly without rudders, you'll do just fine transitioning to using them without "overusing" them as #2 pointed out.
You help out so much on these forums, I could see how you might forget your own statement...
I've read so much over the past few weeks I bet I could name which one of said just about anything
