Smoke Location

Post by Racer » Mon Mar 20, 2006 7:31 pm

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if any of you can enlighted me as how to modify the location of the smoke so that it comes out the back of the plane instead of the wing tip smoke pods. What file needs to be modified and how should it be modified or experimented with.

Thanks,
Racer

Look in the DRAWINFO.lua file, its located in the lockon dir/config/weapons folder. Once you read thru it, how to modify it will be pretty clear.

Burner,
Thanks for the reply.
I have been going through this file and all I can see how to modify as far
as the position goes is the X (distance behind the pod) and the Y (Above and below the pod). I cannot find the line to modify the Z ( distance towards the centerline of the plane).
Can you fill me in on this last coordinate direction?

Thank,

Racer

The Z axis IS the centerline of the airplane, if you want to change this value you'll have to modify the pylon positions in the MeINIT file, I've been shown how its done but never done it myself. If moving the pylon is absolutly necessary for your mod, seek me out on our Ven server sometime and I'll run you thru what I know- its too much to type.

Would it be possible to download the files from here, that get the white smoke to come out of the back of the F16 per the way you guys have it set?

Thank-you.

All the files you need to do that are in our mod, just pull out the skin files and install our mod manually.

See our library.

I did install your mod, I turned on the smoke with the T key and it still at the wingtips and red and green. Help?

Red and green smoke tells me your using an old version of the game. Are you updated to patch 1.12a?

1: Install Lock-On from the CD
2: Install Flaming Cliffs (whichever version you have, CD or download)
3: Patch Flaming Cliffs to the latest version patch, currently 1.12a (use the correct patch file, CD or download version of FC)

That's it! No need for any 1.02 patches, stutter fixes or other files. Flaming Cliffs brings the game up to ver 1.1 and the 1.11 patch (just as any future patch) will include all previous patch versions and fixes, including the stuttering fix that was released prior to the 1.11 patch.

Redeye is correct! You are not up-to-date with your Lock-On version and the mod may or may not function properly with any relics prior to Flaming Cliffs or version 1.1! Follow the installation instructions found in our FAQs on our website and you'll get pluming white smoke out the back of the Viper!
