Hello Thunderbirds!
Hey guys, just making myself known. Found your site one day, lol the images brought me in, the videos sat me down
What you guys do is amazing. The speed, the intensity, everything is awesome. I want to eventually try to join up with you guy as a million other people are im sure. A little bit of background on me, im only 15, but ive flown sims since 98, and have quite a bit of experience. With regards to combat sims, i started out playing Il-2, then got the expansion, and went to Pacific Fighters for awhile. I have always loved jet aviation, so i wanted the same thing, but modern aircraft. So, i found lockon about 2 weeks ago. Its no different except for a few things flying in Pacific fighters, so flying in it comes natural to me. Skill wise in aerobautics, i can fly in formation pretty well, just got a new joystick though so still not used to it, and I can do atleast half of the manuevers the thunderbirds do. Now, thats not saying that i know them all lol, but im trying. I think is where i lack is in the technicality. Not necessarily the flying portion, but the communications, remembering every manuever that kind of thing. I have a question though, do you guys allow non-members in your sessions? I wouldn't even fly with you guys unless you needed someone, but just to watch. I really really want to learn all the manuevers etc, not being calky, but i know I have the potential, i just need to learn the material. Ive been looking at the Ops manual, and i know i am going to have trouble with the comms, and remembering the manuevers, but i promise every single one of you guys that I am going to try my hardest. Whens your next tranining session? Do you allow us on your teamspeak etc? Thanks for your time. Just wanted you guys to know that I idle all of you, and that hopefully i can work hard and fly with you. Yes, also just letting you know im here.

Welcome to the forums! We do not host open sessions at the present. That's not to say we won't in the future, but we just don't have the time or means right now. You can tryout and thereby also get a glimpse of what we do (if two team members fly the sortie with the candidates). Lastly, we may use a public Ventrilo (not Teamspeak) server (voice comms) in the future, but just like our sorties, it's private at this time. Hope this answers your questions and glad to see the enthusiasm!

Yeah understood, although like the walk, how do i learn to do this stuff? The basic stuff knife edge etc etc rolls is easy, but ive been trying it, and i dont think im gettin speed right. And to clarify, then can i go in vent with you guys and just listen in during your trainings if i can't be in the actual server?

You would be amazed how good you can get just by flying online with some friends. I was up with my buddy Zack and before we knew it we were doin opposing passes and formation loops
! I hadn't really attempted to do that type of flying before, mostly we were just dog fighting, but the more tight moves we did, the better we got! I'd suggest getting together with a buddy and taking to the skies, that can really help you guess exactly how much practice ur gonna need.

Mine will suffice. Did you get any lag last session? I didn't but we were direct to the modem. Going to figure out my problem with router, and try to host. You up for flying tonight? I am getting good flying with that k10 or whatever that has the grey f16 skin, i just cant always keep with it when its turning, i seem to turn sharper then it, which i know i just need to keep the same angles and speeds, and nothing should be different so.... Im hoping for the best
