And I missed your post LD - sorry  . To answer your question, I have done literally nothing with the pit since my last update over a year ago (other than fly it of course  ) I still have two panels that need lighting, but the soldering iron has been safely tucked away & I've had more pressing projects on the hangar...I mean house. 8) I'll get back to it one of these days - I think I'm afraid that when I do, I'll get the bug again and tackle the upper instrument panel & glareshield. Too much cash for me right now.

Haven't really made any changes to the pit lately, but I recently made a major upgrade to the heart of the beast. 8)

I've been an AMD guy ever since I built my first system, but I finally broke down and built a system around the Intel Core i7. I went with the base model 920 because with my chilled water cooling setup, I knew I'd be able to get a nice overclock. I couldn't be more pleased with the results...I'm running a stable 4.3 GHz on a $250 chip designed to run @2.67GHz!

What a mess huh?

Went a little too cold with the water the day I was pushing my benchmarks - check out the condensation at the base of the waterblock... got it shut down before the big drip - whew!

Why am I now picturing Gunner waiting for a thunderstorm with a mis-shapen assistant?

"Master, the storm is at its height!"

"Excellent Igor... tell the other VTB's I can FLY!... FLY I tell you... Muhahahhahahahaaaaa......"

Wow!!!

Such an awesome Flux Capacitor, I bet time travel in your pit is awesome Gunner!

For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about...

I miss your updates too, but as always real life takes over.

I've had my PC upgrade bits sitting in boxes under my desk since Christmas and I'm like, yeah I'll get round to it this weekend.
I've always been an Intel guy and went for an AMD Phenom II x4 940 3.0Ghz this time. Can't wait to get her built and powered up with Vista Ultimate and 8Gb Corsair RAM and dual 8800GTX cards.

That should futureproof me for say... 6 months.

Haha yeah, I thought that too after typing it, but it's the only way to get my 8Gb working. <sigh>

Very nice job Gunner. It is an honor for me to contemplate your work. I still have a lot of work on my cockpit.

Been busy the past few weeks! Here's what the pit looked like a week and a half ago...

I had to move the monitor up and back to make room for this!

Still lots to do - Top detail on ICP housing, HUD lens, ICP mount, DED, Backup ADI, wiring misc panel, and the list goes on...

I can't begin to describe the difference in the immersion factor now - I'm so glad Thrustmasters MFD's motivated me to go ahead with the main panel.
