Hillsboro Airshow 2009
I really hope I'm posting this in the right place, but anyone on here going to be at the Hillsboro Airshow Sunday the 30th?
A second question, if anyone was at the airshow today (Saturday) or maybe has some insider info, can someone tell me why the Thunderbirds ended their show nearly 15 minutes early?
Next, does anyone have any "confirmed" radio frequencies? I checked http://www.monitoringtimes.com/MT_Air_S ... e_2009.pdf as was suggested to me by many folks, but today while listening I was only able to hear the solos on channel 235.250.
And last, but FAR from least, you guys, VTB, rock. Both you and the VBA, who I've been a member of their fourms for a while now, are a great inspiration to a lot of folks, and excellent role models of dedication, hard work, and striving for perfection.
Thanks in advance for any assistance and big thanks to all the work you've done!

Save them as AM.
Milcom blog typically has the latest frequency updates.

Hillsboro Airshow
My son and I just got back from the show. Must say the Tbirds were quite impressive this year. Was finally able to get a listen in on the diamoind channel, but it was an FM channel, and it had a constent carrier signal, which prevented me from hearing the airboss or the solos. But still was cool to hear. If anyone wants to see the pics, I'm putting them on my Facebook and setting them as viewable by all. I'm not a photographer, and I was using a Point and Shoot 10MP Casio Camera and didn't have the best seats.

I had another question. Can anyone tell me why the Thunderbirds declared my airport's runway, (6,600 feet) too short? All the other jet teams use it, F-15's, 18's, Blue Angels, Red Arrows, the Soviets, and I'm fairly sure the Tbirds used it in past shows, why suddenly would they declare it too short?

That's awesome. This was my son's second airshow, at least for going inside of. I didn't get to see much of the low show on Saturday because where I live the trees block most of the action. My neighbor and I are plotting on how to resolve this however (evil grin). Enjoy the Blues, sadly I don't get to see them until (hopefully) next year. Not sure I'm liking this only showing up once every 3 years thing.

@Luse, awesome video from the flat show! Their timing was quite off on that Bomb Burst Cross, but the EPIR made up for it!
You really get a sense of how fast they fly in this video.

As far as the runway being "too short", could have to do with the lack of a cable. I beleive this is a requirement for the team for any runway length less than 7,000ft.mezrein503 wrote:Can anyone tell me why the Thunderbirds declared my airport's runway, (6,600 feet) too short?
