MythBusters and the Blue Angels

Post by Lawndart » Sun Mar 01, 2009 12:30 am

Mythbusters, Blue Angels come to Yuma range

"The "MythBusters" teamed up with the Blue Angels and Marines here Feb. 18-20 on the Barry M. Goldwater Range to test whether a sonic boom from a jet would shatter glass.
So was the myth busted? Viewers will have to wait until the episode airs this summer to find out."

Now THAT I gotta watch. 8)
"Mythbusters" co-host, Jamie Hyneman, stayed on the ground at the site, while his partner, Adam Savage, rode in one of the jets.
Lucky.

Good episode, but what was the verdict on the "Sonic Boom" myth breaking windows? (Busted, Plausible, Confirmed)...

My DVR was kind enough to cut off just as they said: "This myth is..."

Don't you love how that works. I have started recording 1 minute prior and 2 minutes after show time in order to catch the whole show that I'm recording.

Yea, my old cable had it setup to automatically begin a minute early and end 5 minutes past. That worked much better!

Of course anything on CBS or ABC (on the weekends) needs to have a 30 minute buffer just to be safe. They're never on time!

Busted because it couldn't break the glass.

IMO plausible on the fact it did give the base camp a run for its money
plus I don't believe they got the sonic waves directed enough on the main "targets".

Just my thought about it. :)

Thanks for the heads up LD!

I recorded this for sure. Was a fun episode, even though I love MythBusters already.

What I would give to be Adam in this one... sigh
