Ok, I am coming here because I can't find a working solution to my problem. I can get HL to run, chat, look at games being played, problem is that HL gives me an error "can't find game executable".

I have manually typed it in, a no go. I let it search for it, it was found, selected it, and then selected save. No matter what I do HL says the same thing. Can't find game exe.

Windows Vista Home Premium
I have the most current version of HL. Running as ADMIN and Windows XP compatible mode.
LOMAC FC 1.12a

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

PS. still can't get mod 2.4 to install

I'm pretty sure there is a 1.12b patch for vista (and XP).

I couldn't connect to games with my 1.12a patch installed. The 1.12b file solved it for me (although the file name says 1.12a when you download it, it installs 1.12b).

https://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos= ... ts&lang=en

Patch 1.12b for "LockOn 1.1: Flaming Cliffs" simulator

This patch can be installed over Lock On 1.1, Lock On 1.11 or Lock On 1.12. Patch version 1.12b includes fixes of various bugs found in the previous version of the game, as well as numerous improvements to it, such as:

compatibility with the Windows Vista Operating System,
"Ghost" spikes and nails on RWR SPO-15 and TEWS bug fixed,
advanced model of guidance limitations for Air to Air Missiles with precise tuning,
new multiplayer code with increased game stability,
numerous avionics fixes and improvements,
new input features,
new 3D models of numerous
munitions *,
new, more advanced models of AWACS and EWR operations *,
compatibility with the Win64 Operating System *,
optional once-a-week disk check for the CD version *.
The full list of added features and corrections implemented in patch version 1.12b

Patch version 1.12b also includes previously released patches and fixes: patch version 1.11 (marked with *), Ground Units LODs Fix (GU_LODs) and CLIENT NETWORK GAME STUTTERING FIX.

Well, I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it works.

About the 1.12b patch. The download link at the link you gave me says that it is 1.12b but in the read me files it says 1.12a. Don't think it really matters though. I have it working with HL now.

Now, though, my TIR 4 is not working with LOMAC. HA! Fix one thing and another quits. not sure what to do now though. And the 2.4 mod is something that I guess I will have to give up on. I still can't get it to show in game even though it says installation complete. Oh well. Was looking forward to the thunderbirds mod. Guess I will have to settle with the F-15.

1.12b is for Vista specifically.

1.12a is the same as 1.12b, but for XP.

Any time you change options LOMAC creates two TrackIR files (in two diretories, at least one is an .ini file, I cannot remember what the other one is - Don't have LOMAC on this rig here to look). You need to search and delete these two files inside the LOMAC foler(s) and your TIR should work fine again. Repeat as necessary if you change settings again...

Are you absolutely certain you're using LoMan (not ModMan) and copied the files from the LoMan patch to overwrite the ones originally in LoMan 2.1 as stated in the readme in the Unofficial LoMan patch?

Well, I don't know how to get the 1.12b then. Because the link that I download from says 1.12b but after you read the read me files it says 1.12a. I'm confused.

I have TIR4 working now, deleted the tir.ini file in lomac.

I have used modman at first because I am a retard. I tried to remove it from modman but it will not let me. So i went and got LoMan 2.1 and the patch and followed the instructions to the T this time. So it must have screwed me up using modman first.

Thanks for you quick responses. Much appreciated. Now, if I can just correct what I did with modman I might get it to work.

Yep, just checked. The Patch I downloaded says 1.12b but if you go to where it is installed and read "1.12_readme.rtf" it says that it is version 1.12a.

Ok, this is what I just got done doing. I uninstalled both Loman and Modman, removed left over files manually. Rebooted. Reinstalled Loman2.1 final and placed the patch inside just as mentioned in your FAQ.
Started LoMan, installed the 2.4 mod. It says Sucessful. Yet it doesnt work. These are the files that fail to install:

F-15.cmd
F-15-FONAR.cmd
F-15-OBLOMOK.cmd
F-15-OBLOMOK-WING-L.cmd
F-15-OBLOMOK-WING-R.cmd
F-15-PTB-N1.cmd
F-15-PTB-N2.cmd
WC.cmd

also all the konteiner_brown.cmd etc files

I'm not a Vista user, but this is what Talon posted about installing LOMAC and addons with Vista:
Talon wrote:Prior to installing, right click the setup.exe, go to properties, compatibility tab, and check the boxes for both the Run as Administrator and Run in Compatibility Mode for XP-SP2. Then install by clicking the same setup.exe. (Do this for all other programs for LockOn as well such as Loman, Modman, etc...)
I underlined and highlighted a part of particular interest that may have something to do with your problem?
