I really don't think you can have a happy medium though between the major American teams and the European teams. If we flew on the European server, it would be "Bounce City", and I'm sorry, I am sure JaBoG has a great bandwidth server, but our 6 F/A-18s, 1 C-130, and comm cart will be flying our VFAT 2007 demonstration on our server based in the midwestern United States. The same would happen if the Europeans flew on our server(s). Its not an issue of bandwidth but of ping. We could have the best bandwidthed servers in the world (which we pretty much do   ) and there will still be a ping issue.

EDIT: Sorry I went off onto a tangent there and didn't truly respond to your statement. We are exploring possibly streaming a show via webstream if we can figure it out. Well, let me rephrase that, we "understand" how to set the hardware up to do it, the question is the software and like you said, bandwidth. And I promise, no dumb radio announcers on this webstream!

And with regards to the voting thing. I am sorry, but no. You cannot simply vote to have some one in or out. That just drives division. However, we should be opening this up to those teams that are well established, and I personally don't think that we should have solo acts any more. It's supposed to be the Virtual Festival of Aerobatic TEAMS. There is no "I" in team(s).

I can't complain though with the hawk/f-15 combo. It's sweet to fly, I just have to remember not to kick in the AB, which is a hard habit to break!
yeah there is a way of changing that the throttle does not recognise the AB you have to go in your lomac input ( in the game ) go to throttle and change the slider thing one notch or maybe 2 back, check out on our forum there is screenshots. Effects: 100% throttle=No AB
plus i got x-52 and that works with 2 notches back so any u who have the mod and need AB off do this.

Regarding VFAT; agreed, qualifying is a bad idea. Logistically, there has to be a sollution though and I think Aerobatic Team Displays and Demos qualify. Solo Aerobatics would have to come second, included only to the extent possible - unless its split into a different event. We'll re-open this again when VFAT is around the corner I'm sure...

I'm hereby officially giving back the thread to the "Virtual Red Arrows". Good tip on the throttle setup for those interested.

Seems to me the solution is in the ideas here. Multiple servers (maybe VTB could host more than just their own show), Multiple dates ( 2 weekends maybe), and dump the solo acts (maybe a seperate and renamed event). Rhino is absolutely correct when he points out this is a 'team' demo event.

Bye bye VRA thread (again)... Sorry, can't seem to not hijack this topic here!

...and I'm not going to. Let's start a new thread where we can discuss VFAT 2007: Click here to continue discussing VFAT 2007!
