My firewall that comes with my windows xp slows down my computer. What will be a better one firewall I can download and use for free?

AVG? lmao! bud I have had that crap for over a 2 years on my old computer. Moved on to panda titanium antivirus+antispyware 2007 and oh my god. Got messages left and right saying virus neutrualized, spyware deleted, cookie cleaned, virus detections and deleted before theres an option of telling it what to do. If I were you, SWITCH to what I got....also AVG is going not-free now! After use of a year it will tell you that you only get updates until a following day and your screwed! Ever since then, I got my dad to switch to Panda and he loves it as much as I do.Tubs wrote:not true.......I recommend AVG.....there is a freeware and a payware. That is what is on all our computers, updates weekly, and virus scans catch the most random things.
Now with Panda, you get ALL of that and more!AVG-free (website) wrote:

Panda has a freeware program also, exactly like AVG 'BUT', Panda includes much more protection and stuff along with it and AVG doesnt.

The only side effect of Panda is your computer is a little slower to start up and has a good bit of processes running but it is seriously worth it and it isnt really anything if you got a good computer!
In my opinion....AVG free is WAYY great OFFLINE

Are you on the payroll or something?
I've been using AVG for several years without any problems. After reading this thread I visited Panda for a free online scan and unlike you it turned up nothing. In other words, I've been well protected with AVG.
I'm not sure your correct about the free version. The 7.1 version expires Feb. 18 but I think there will be a 7.5 free version out then. Also, if you need a free firewall try Sygate Personal Firewall.

Thats good, your pretty lucky it did you a good job then cause I have many friends that run AVG and got problems. I advised them to get Panda and they did and they thanked me because its such a better program and it protects a whole lot more!_AH_Stryker wrote:I've been using AVG for several years without any problems. Maybe, I am not very sure but for an average of 50 bucks a year for Panda Internet Security, its a huge deal. The set-up is beyond anything and much nicer than Nortan, AVG, and McAfee's. I'm just saying that Panda is a much better program over AVG, not because I enjoy using it....but so do my friends that switched!_AH_Stryker wrote:I'm not sure your correct about the free version. Internet Security 2007 is $69.95
Antivirus+Firewall 2007 is $49.95.
I use Antivirus+Firewall and it protects just about anything that comes to harm my computer, I dont think you need Privacy Control. Anti-Email Spam blocker, and Web Contents Filtering for 20 dollars more with Internet Security when IE7 blocks all of it. So SAVE 20 bucks and go Anti-virus and Firewall for 49.95/y! And once 2008 comes out I think you get a 50% discount and upgrade for $20 or $30, I cannot remember.
