Hey guys,
I am looking to modify an airfield for air show purposes and would like to know how you have layed out your marker system for your shows. I am looking for type of marker, quantity, spacing and so forth.
I thought I remember seeing it on the net before but damn if I can find it now.
Thank you for your time,
Racer

Racer,
Just like the real Thunderbirds we have layed out our markers 2.5nm(inner marker) and 5nm (outer marker). You can find this under our library/image gallery/references/satellite map. We have also included "hack" markers for the Solo pilots as well and we havent had any problems using them that I can ever remember. Basically, I think the key is that you need enough spacing to setup for you next run and if you are waiting on another a/c they are great for reference points for where exactly you should be at a given time.
Good luck,

Just like Striker said, ours is modeled after the real Thunderbirds layout except that theirs is much more contracted. Take a look at the image he suggested! The real team uses markers (landmarks, ins navpoints) 2nm instead of our slightly longer run-ins. In general what helps is to place a clockface around the airport with "inner markers" around 2-3nm from showcenter, one for each 45 degree angle and then "outer markers" on the cardinal headings, total of four (on the line, runway alignment and perpendicular from behind and in front) using twice the distance of the "inner markers" 4-6nm from showcenter.
I checked out your site and first off, nice job! Secondly, I assume you're using MSFS. Just FYI, we don't fly with MSFS in case that wasn't already understood...
