Tail hook?

As I seen in WCD-01/WILDCAT's pictures he posted, I noticed that there are tail hooks on the F-4E's. With the Blue Angels flying the Navy F-4J, I can see that but, on the Air Force's version? Strange.

Airforce aircraft also have tail hooks for arrested landings in emergency or high wind conditions. These aren't as punishing as carrier landings and are two very different recovery procedures.

That and McDonnel Douglas, when producing the F-4, decided to keep a standardized design instead of chaning it.
