Recruit Training Session 5-7-05

Post by Burner » Sun May 01, 2005 8:47 pm

I've decided to host a basic training session next Saturday for anyone who wishes to join. It will be comprised of a 30min - 60min lecture on all I've learned so far in my past year as a Thunderbird, followed by a flight, hosted by me, where you can all take what you've learned to the skies. The lecture will cover as much as I can remember from control setup to seating position to rejoin procedures and everything inbetween.

This IS NOT a tryout session.
This IS a great opportunity to learn and practice before you tryout.

When:
Saturday at 2PM EST (1900Z)

Where:
Ventrilo and LOMAC IPs to be announced Friday

Requirements:
LOMAC 1.1 (if you just want to listen to the lecture then this is not required)
Ventrilo (required)

I realize not everyone has 1.1 yet but unfortunately this is all I have. I do plan on hosting another one of these sessions once the 1.1 CD comes out for those left out of this one. If you plan on attending now or in the future please post here so I can get an idea of interest. Also if the 2PM time is a problem I can move it to later in the evening however realize this will cut into some of our flight time.

You'll need 1.1 to fly with us, however you'll still be able to listen to the lecture in ventrilo. The CD release of 1.1 is supposed to be the 15th I think so once its out for a bit I'll host another one of these.

Alas, studying for finals is cramping my style once more. Burner, thanks for the invite, but I'm gonna have to bow out this time around. I'll definitely be game for the next one.

Greetings. Fantastic concept, web site, and video. Nice job guys.

Read your post over @ SimHQ. Is this an open session? I'd much appreciate the training if so.

Many thanks Burner.

Bummer. Just found out this afternoon that I am going in for Lasik surgery tomorrow @ 1430. I had an appointment today at Emory, and that was the only time slot they could fit me in over the next 2 weeks, so got to do it. Hopefully this will help me get rid of the corrective lenses part of my FAA ticket.

I was very much looking forward to the session, and I appreciate the fact that it was open.

I'll keep watching the boards to see if you guys host another. Do you have regular squad meetings, and are any of them open? We've only got a couple of guys trying out LOMAC/FC in my IL-2/PF squad, so very interested in learning how you guys run things. If any of you want to come fly with us on Thursday nights in a pretty good prop sim, drop me a message.

Have a good session tomorrow,

Im sure you will be happy once you get that lasik surgery done. and while we dont host open team meetings or keep our ventrillo server open to public we will have more of these "training" sessions in the future.

You know you can't say "bomb on an aircraft"! Bomb-ba-ba-bomb-ba-ba-bomb-ba-ba-ba!

So, how many people showed up for this training? (I imagine not too many, since a lot of people don't even have 1.1)...

Fantastic session Burner. I really learned how to be a better lead as well. Thanks again. Can't wait until 1.1.
