Post by lieutfunaki » Tue Apr 26, 2005 9:33 pm

Calling all prospective VTB pilots. I'll be online tonight at 8 pacific time to practice formation flying. Please have the VTB Thuderbird f-16 and Lomac version 1.02

Also have teamspeak and a headset ready.

I'll be on Ubi as either "lieutfunaki" or "Smuckers" (my callsign). See ya there.

lieutfunaki,

How did it go? Did you get anyone to join your server?

Just to let everyone know once we start hosting tryouts, it will be with version 1.1 and 1.1 only! Just to give everyone interested ample time to grab it as soon as avail...

The mod will be released for 1.1 prior to tryouts as well.

Nope, no one showed. I'll try to post a few day's notice next time. I did end up flying formation with a few friends instead.

On a side note, things were a bit jumpy last night while flying, as they have been in the past. My system specs are pretty good (Athlon 3000 1gig ram etc), and all my friends have broadband, so why would things lag/get jumpy? (aircraft leaving the ground while taxiing etc) I ended up turning my settings to low, which helped a bit but anything else I can do?

I'm not sure about 1.02 anymore, maybe someone else can help you more on that? It definitely sounds like a lot of lag going on! Make sure you all select DSL 128/128 connection speed regardless of what you might actually have!

Yeah, I checked that...I'll keep working on it. But as you say it really doesn't matter since 1.1 is good to go....

Make sure to turn off your antivirus and don't minimize Lock On. That creats mucho lag.
