We might have done what was once said impossible. A demo team in FS, we recently performed a air show for the Virtual Military Unit, Specops and here is the video they released, check it out.....

All done from different computers, we have been practicing for 8 months, and are working to fly closer, but we are adding and taking away some stuff and trust me it will be about 10 times better than it is now.

any chance of posting a new link to this video? I'd really like to check it out? I've only seen one virtual video, and all of the cockpit pictures were from the F-15 C/D model (thought that was a strange factual discrepancy). Anyhow, link anyone?

As for now no the most we can hold in a formation is 4 - 5 people with about a 5 + foot spread and that can last for about 10 minutes max. That might change when FSX comes out with its new multiplayer based system but we will see, for now this is all we can do in a good formation. We have a new 2 man demo which you will see a video of soon and it has some new maneuvers never before seen in real life nor in any flightsims.

Sigh...
Out of all sims currently on the market, Lock-On cannot be beat for formation aerobatics - period! Yes, that includes all other sims out right now. FSX, FighterOPS and more remains to be seen, but I'm certainly not holding my breath until I have a copy in my hand that clearly has better flight dynamics and netcode than Lock-On. Eagle Dynamics is a tough competitor to beat right now!

Yes we know that but at the same time we like the challenge. As for now we have nobody to compete with. I think once you guys see our new maneuvers you will have new respect for what we do. We have been performing virtual air shows and doing fly-bys and so far no major problems. In the future i dont think we will be changing game databases. We like what you guys do and we are doing just the same we just have to fly a little further apart.

Keep working hard and have fun! My *sigh* was not towards you, but in general wondering why so many virtual pilots insist on shorting themselves the ability to fly silky smooth, close contact formation (metal-to-metal)? It's a well known fact that F4 and FS is terrible for formation flying. My only question is how far can you go (or challenge yourself like you said), when the game itself is the biggest limitation, not the people flying the sim? Don't take this the wrong way, but I like the fact that the only thing keeping us back is our ability and skill, since Lock-On is currently the best one on the market suited for this kind of flying.

I'll agree with everything lawndart just posted up there. I had no idea how much smoother, I'm not going to put the word easier, but better it is until I got the game about 7 months ago. Your WAY more aware of what's going on around you, and you don't have to put up with bugs like not being able to see your partners lights, they look like they are half way through the ground sometimes, their are NO crashing effects, you can barley hear their engines, warning systems are bugged, un-realistic handling, ect. Look, in my opinion, LOMAC was made for jets to be turnen and burnen, FS was made for heavy iron to be landing after a cross country flight. I'm not sure if FS-10 will be any different, and most likely they won't even include fighters, bombers, attackers, or anything like that. This post was not suppose to be offensive, just sort of a reference, and a ad

for lockon. I agree I'll have to see fighter-ops in action before buying it. For now I'd point anybody in the direction of LOMAC for online/single player military aviation.

Sorry didnt mean to sound mean if i did before. I agree that this game is better for formation but i think that makes us all the more unique. We are taking on the challenge of a demo team in FS. We are trying stuff to be different all the while showing the same professionalism. We havnt recieved any bad comments for thos who have seen us in live air shows and hopefully we can keep that record. Our next show is sunday so im off to practce my solo a few times. Wildcat out
