Space Shuttle Sounds

Post by Lawndart » Fri May 25, 2012 2:14 pm

Oh, how I miss these sounds...

The loud, deep, rumble hit your chest far deeper than thunder. You could literally feel the power of the boosters.

0:38- The rumble.

If you happened to be indoors for the twin sonic booms it always sounded to me like our neighbor took a sledgehammer and pounded the wall really hard... twice!

1:32- Twin sonic booms.

Sure do miss that.

IMO, best sound of all was ME ignition. Still gives me chills.
Design is all about finding solutions within constraints.

I saw a launch live from the Cape back in 96 and I can still remember the feeling in my chest and the grin on my face, and probably tears running down my cheek watching in awe.
