Excellent job w/ A320; aircrew should be commended

Post by Kahuna » Wed Sep 21, 2005 9:26 pm

Just watched a JetBlue A320 land in Los Angeles on CNN w/ a NLG problem. Looked like the centering cam on the nose strut (or if it uses one, the NWS actuator centering system) failed and turned the NLG 90 degrees. After burning off fuel, pilot put it on the ground. There was some smoke and fire from the tires and wheel assys burning, but no major mishap. Pilot did a fabulous job, especially w/ aerobraking and keeping the NLG off for as long as possible.

Kudos to the JetBlue team.

do you have a personality problem or why are you calling everyone a "noob"?
I dont know you, you dont know me so lets respect eachother the way it is supposed to be, ok?!
:x
And i agree, the Pilot and of course all of his crew did an amazing job and got everyone off the airplane safely!

Cheers,

If you were to be banned from this forum, there would be a lot less pwnage going on.

Banning is pointless, noobs ban when they feel threatened.

pwnage is not pwnt. pwnage is present tense and pwnt is past tense.

...and yes, the pilots did a great job and a picture perfect landing. They used up all but 800ft of the runway and maintained centerline. As good as that would seem, it's also likely the cause of the sparks and blaze since the metal essentially was skidding over painted stripes and then concrete acting much like when you light a match on a matchbox. None the less, just as Captain Al Haynes (known from the Sioux City accident) said live yesterday: Outstanding job by the crew!

We presently have no intent of starting to censor words, but this is just to show you what we can and will do if it continues to get out of hand. We hope that everyone acts respectfully and responsibly and we're not here to moderate the forum primarily by any means. Given that it's everyones responsibility to keep it clean, we will not interfere unless warranted.

Enjoy it and keep it clean! ...and for anyone reading this thread look over the Forum rules & policies.

Now, where did this post originally start again?! ...

The topic originally started with the JetyBluey A320 planer thing that like landed and like sparks flew all over the place and all sorts of cool looking stuff.
