In FC1 you had very direct control over the aircraft and immediate response to the smallest input. It was possible to stay in that exact pin point position but with many little bumps.

In FC2 they added some sort of dampening over the stick control (that beside the flight dynamic changes) and if you compare reality to both FC1 and 2, FC2 looks much more natural. In reality you see aircraft floating around at their position, even when the pilot gives many quick & small inputs.

Some say the changes in FC2 made the formation flying easier, some say it became harder. It is personal I guess but I think FC2 comes closer to reality.

I agree. I still think SFMs have some fault with pitch dampening and airflow restorative forces/keel effect, but it is better than FC1, in my mind.
