Multiple installs of FC2
Is it possible to have multiple installs of FC2?
These shoulders hold up so much. They won't budge. I'll never fall or fold up. Even if my collarbones crush or crumble I will never slip or stumble.

Re: Multiple installs of FC2
Copy and rename the FC2 folder to whatever, also copy the shortcuts.marcelbrabson wrote:Is it possible to have multiple installs of FC2?
Go to properties of the shortcuts and then change the "target" to the corresponding folder.

Thanks Frazer... I planned on touching bases with you on this issue anyway. I knew that you would know.Frazer wrote:You never learn now do you......Tailhook wrote:Really Frazer? .....Frazer wrote: Posting and YOU...

I'll do that. Thanks for your input. By the way great performance at VFAT.Beaker wrote:It's also good practice to keep a clean/unedited patched install set aside to be able to make copies or restore original settings at any time.

Late to the party here, but see this:
Creating multiple installs of LockOn (found in the MOAS thread).
Same applies for FC2, just copy/paste, create shortcuts, point ModMan to the appropriate game path etc. As mentioned, always keep a clean copy handy!

Wow Tailhook, were you just trying to chalk up another POST to your ticker.. LOL
Anyways...
Make sure like Beaker said, that you have a clean, UNMODDED, PATCHED, install, then you can copy and paste the folder into your LOCKON root folder and rename it to whatever mod you want, but you will have to make copies of the SHORTCUTS on your desktop and point them to the new install paths.
Now, if for some reason you decide to create another install FROM SCRATCH, make sure you download the REGISTRY ROLL BACK (FC2 1.0.2reg) from someone. Because if you try to patch your new install, you will get a message saying that it's already patched. Actually your original install would be patched and your new one won't be able to so this will rollback the version for ALL installs and then you can RE-PATCH them all with one click.
This should pretty much cover all the instances you might run into.
Better than a one word response, eh?
Hope this helps!
