Quentin, you didn't do anything wrong. Great job on the video!!!
Thumper was just helping you by using HTML code so your video shows up in the forums instead of just the link. Many people don't know how to do this, or even that the forums allow posting of "embed" code directly from YouTube, Vimeo etc. into a forum post.
P.S. (It's just as easy as copying the link, just look for the embed code on YouTube and copy/paste it directly into your post and it will show the video).
