No it wasn't me but one of our A330's just found Abby Sunderland a looooooong way from anywhere in the Southern Ocean. Perth is one of my favourite slip ports so I can imagine the expression on the captains face when, instead of flying Perth-Sydney like he was expecting, he got a phone call saying "we want you to find a yacht 2200nm miles away in the Southern Ocean!" So they did!
The captain is ex-RAAF as well. He was the first Aussie chosen to fly the F/A-18 when we got them back in '86.
