Wilbur is leading the Patriots diamond and just spacing him self with the 747SP, who is just flying a banana. I'm sure the SP pilot and Wilbur are in communication for speeds and what not.

Oh yea, they have to be. Oh, did you see that epic low pass by the 747?

I would have to do a pants check after that one. :D

The closest thing I think I've seen to this was at the Ft. Lauderdale Airshow here in Florida, but if I'm correct it was a 737...

The 747 is an SP (special performance) version of the 747. We had two of them in Qantas when I joined. They were initially bought, believe it or not, so we could fly into Wellington airport, until someone realized that they could be sent non-stop to the West Coast from Australia.

They were very over-powered and hence a lot of fun to fly on a short sector. The only time I have been to 45,000 feet was in one of those. It was a shame to get rid of them but the -400 turned up and could do the West Coast directs flights with a full load so that was that.

That was actually Randy, the Patriots team owner, flying that 747... still the lowest pass I've ever seen in a plane that big...

Oh yea, I mean it was just such an epically awesome performance, a great jet team and a daring as hell 747 pilot...
