Quick recap of recommended tweaks (for a fresh FC2 install)

Quick recap of recommended tweaks (for a fresh FC2 install):
  • Change \Config\producer.cfg to read:
    ForceFeedbackEnabled = false;
    ForceTrackIR3ProZoomAxisToXAxis = false;
  • Change \Config\joyrange.cfg to read:
    JoyRange = 3000;
  • Change \BlackShark\Data\Scripts\options.lua to read:
    ["water"] = 1, (0 = low, 1 = medium, 2= high, 3 = very high).
  • Change \Config\graphics.cfg to read:
    MaxFPS = 60; (0 = unlimited, set this value to your screen's refresh rate).
  • Change \Config\servergraphics.cfg to read (and to avoid integrity check fail):
    FogParam1 = 6;
    FogParam2 = 1.0;
  • Change \FUI\Resources\Multiplayer\chat-log.res to Disable Multiplayer Chat.
  • Remove all unwanted axis commands for other input devices than your HOTAS. (e.g. MFDs should not have axis assignments - only the HOTAS - FC2 defaults these settings incorrectly, and assigns axis to devices that shouldn't have them). If using the TARGET, 'clear category' and then add each axis again under TM Combined with your script running. It's also recommended to clear all DX buttons from the key assignments.
  • Add a LCTRL modifier for any key assignments that aren't recognized by Foxy as RCTRL (e.g. trim up/down). Not applicable to TARGET users.
  • Setup your HOTAS axis tune for joy-y with 10% DZ, 40% curve. (Leave joy-x, -z and -rz linear if you're using the VTB Cougar_v05_shaped.tmc Cougar profile for the FSSB or if you're using a profile that already has a -7 curve in CCP for the x- and rudder axes). Not applicable to TARGET users.
  • Download the VTB Cougar_v05 Foxy profile for your Cougar. Adds nose up/down trim to the coolie (H1), POV now uses the S3 modifier and trim reset added to the S1 button. (Removes Foxy "trim"). Newer TARGET profile available for Warthog users.
  • Perform additional FPS/haze tweaks (as desired) in the \Config\graphics.cfg by referencing Frazer's DCS Black Shark Tweak Guide Alpha Version and/or A.S.'s post in the FC 2.0 FPS Tweaks/MODs thread.
  • Consider using the No Cloud Shadow Mod (to eliminate shimmering shadow effect on mountains - at the expense of no cloud shadows) and edit the graphics.cfg to read middle clip = 200; to fix transparency issues with the 3D models.
  • Consider using the Deeper Blue Sky Mod.
