Drunk pilot Super Cub act - impressive!

Post by Ray » Sun Jan 31, 2010 10:38 pm

Awesome show and some incredible flying!

It certainly gives me confidence in the low speed/high AOA handling characteristics of the Super Cub!

Granted my dads is only a 135 HP but the fact that he was able to snatch it around without it departing is pretty cool. It's full weight and doesn't have any high lift devices. The 180 HP engine helps quite a bit though.

Was surprised to read that he doesn't have steel wingtip bows, just a steel cover over the tips - seems that the wooden wingtip bows might crack if he put a wing down hard enough, but they seem to be pretty stout.

Info about it here.

Franklin's Flying Circus is one of my favorite airshow performers of the whole season!

Ray, now there's a job for you like the hand in the glove in case the airlines aren't for you...

Haha, yea that would be a blast! Gotta start networking!

Makes me wonder, I've never really thought about how much $ various airshow performers might make, paid by the show obviously, and a lot of variables involved.

I actually probably shouldn't concern myself with that at the moment, lol.

That is one of the most entertaining acts I've ever seen! The hilly airport makes it even more impressive! 8)
