• perfecting formation flying

I fly flight simulator 2004 by Microsoft I also have a aerobatic formation team but has not found a suitable name for it but that is not why I am posting this thread I want to learn hot to perfect my formation flying I am also the lead plane the other thing I am not doing well is calling out the maneuvers can you professionals help me?

This is what I used during flight school last year:

Download the P-357 FTI Formation Jun-03. It's the pub we use for the T-34C.

Then, once you master that, go to https://cnatra.navaltx.navy.mil/cnatra/ppub_t45_str.htm and download the T-45 P-1213 FTI - FORM Dec-99 w/CH 1 10/09/01

Or if you want to fly form in a Beecraft twin engine https://cnatra.navaltx.navy.mil/cnatra/ ... /P-553.pdf - oooooh, it was so exciting

Anything can be found online thesedays. Type in you real name on Google. The links that will show up should be related to you if you don't have a common name.

BTW hotrod. That manual for your T-34 should be perfect for you.

Hey Guys, great site! I would love to do something similar with Flightsim 2004...does anyone know of current teams or folks interested in forming one?

PS - If you ever want to try some real world formation flying...take a look at www.warbirdadventures.com...I flew with them last year...AWESOME!

No problem, glad to help. And not everything can be found online.. unfortunately, most of the Navy NATOPS (flight manuals) can only be accessesed if you have a government email address

First form flight was, needless to say, nerve racking.. but it's amazing how quick you can pick it up.. and how after 5 dual form flights, the US Navy let's you solo.

Kind of miss flying the T-34.. shrug. Just reported into Clearwater FL to fly 130's..

BTW, awesome video site, and idea. Keep up the great work, and, when you're ready to add a "Fat Albert" to the show, I'll be your man :p

They don't hold a match to a commercial aircraft landing light to these Thunderbirds.

Sorry to say to them but they probably don't get within 100 ft of each otehr in formation during the harder manuevers.

Haha. I'm awash's wingman in his team. Honestly we are not that good. We have good practices and we have bad practices. Often bad practices...

We just don't practice enough. It's still fun though but I wish we had more people. It would be even more fun.

I know FS really sucks for formation flight but I've found a good way and just gotten used to it.
