Very nice program for the day. 8)
Looking forward to it.

Since I live +7 hours from America, I don't even have to wake up early to watch it.

Thanks for the advise Lawndart. :)

There's an airshow at Nellis?

See you guys there. Swing by the CAP aircraft and say hi. If I do the same as last year you can jump into the Gippsland. Looks like a box van, but it's got a nice panel for a GA aircraft. We'll probably be right in from of the T-Bird hangar again.

So, what's the word...?

I am trying to figure out the festivities.

New Racing spot opened up... very popular.

@Sinister, we're trying to find out what's going on Friday right now.

Word is there is no media/family day and that Nellis AFB will continue normal military operations. So, until we know what the actual deal is, many of us are "up in the air" about when/if we're going. The safest bet would be that we'll be around Friday evening for festivities and fun! I'd be all for racing. It's just too much fun to miss out on two years in a row!

Standby for more info shortly...

Due to the decreased manning, worldwide deployments and an increased operations tempo, Nellis Air Force Base is unable to host a general air show media day on Friday, Nov. 7. Nov. 8-9, the base public affairs office will accommodate accredited media to the best of its ability with interviews and photo pit access. A media center will also be available.

With the exception of working news vehicles, on-base parking will not be available during the air show. Media will need to access the air show via public access routes through the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Once at Nellis, a special security checkpoint line will be available for the media.

Media interested in attending the air show and taking advantage of the benefits provided should e-mail Mike Estrada at Nellis Air Force Base Public Affairs, michael.estrada@nellis.af.mil by Oct. 24 and provide the following details: Full Legal Name, Any Aliases (or Pen/On-Air Names), and News Media Affiliate.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Mike Estrada or call Nellis Air Force Base Public Affairs at (702) 652-2750.
Wonder if this means no exhibitor parking...

IDK about the media, however, latest news is that they are flying a full practice day Friday (all participants).

To all concerned, what this means is that the base will still be hosting their annual Military Appreciation Day but not the media portion where they usually have local, national and some international media folks on the base hosting somewhat of an "open house" and also direct access to the Thunderbirds for one v. one interviews, etc. THAT is part of the day that will not be occurring this year. All of my sources are saying that there will be a TB practice, as per usual, and throughout the day practices by the other airshow participants.

@Sinister, we should definitely go racing Friday evening! Maybe check and make sure there are no reservations made already...

Have any websites for the two tracks in Vegas?

Pole Position

Fast Lap

Those are the two I know of. I don't know if these are the ones that Sinister is referring to.

Yeah Pole Position is the newest one...

I will check and make sure there are no reservations on that night.

Where are you guys gonna be staying? The Same hotel?

Got a nice view of the C17 demo today from the east side of the runways. That beast looks MEAN 500 feet above you in a 60* bank!
