I was having fun guessing the places before the names popped up in the video. I made it all the way to Iceland before stumbling a little. (Iceland is in fact more Green, and Greenland is Ice, unless it's covered in snow I suppose :) ). Interesting view of the Crimean peninsula and Caucasus, an area near the Black Sea that we're all very familiar with here in the LockOn community I'm sure.

I liked the night views too, but man they must have been enhanced (or used long exposure times) and then some! If lights were that bright flying around at night IRL, you'd have to wear a welder's helmet and radiation suit.

As far as the Crimean Area, it looks really really large compared to in game which can be travled across in what seems to be a short amount of time...

Mach one helps! 8)

They usually fly Shuttle orbits at altitudes around 200 miles above Earth. At that distance even "small" places look rather big, such as Gibraltar, the Red Sea and the Alps seen in the video. Crimea is smaller than most states in the USA. If you travel to the north east it's somewhere in the neighborhood in size of Maryland & New Jersey. (Oregon for example is probably around 8-10 times larger than the Crimean peninsula).

This was really amazing. I've always wanted to go to space until I saw the picture about "imagine being here" and my fear of heights came back. I was like how do they do it? Honestly I wouldn't care if i was in the shuttle but walking in space like that I'd be too scared. Still it would be an amazing once in a lifetime view!

My teacher let me show this in class today and everybody loved it. Thanks for showing this to us.

No Problem.

I have always been in love with the Space Program and this put it over the top. :D

Glad your class enjoyed it. 8)
