Hey Guys,
One heck of a demonstration group. Between the VTB and VBA, I actually broke LOMAC out and actually learned the system...something I hadn't done in the several years I've had the program.
My question is how would you guys recommend learning the tight formation flying? I have a long experience with flight sims and over the past couple weeks have gotten a lot of the "solo" aerobatic routines down fairly well (still room for improvement, but can usually hit them with in +/- 10 ft, 10 kts and on centerline), but can't seem to tighten up formations to closer than about 10 meters. I think a lot of the problem is that I've been doing this with AI flying. If everything is straight and level, I can get in within a couple meters, but then comes the sudden turn and I lose it.
Any recommendations for this? Seems like I need to be heading online somewhere so that there can be good communication between flight lead and wingman, but am not sure where to head. I have heard of the phantom tracks, but have only one computer, so I am unable to use those. I'd love to work on this and maybe in a while see about pursuing a flight spot here.
Thanks for your help.

Definitely try and get online, the AI doesn't turn in a realistic fashion.
As for phantom tracks, the Virtual Snowbirds usually have their own airshow track flying, based on the A-10 flight model, which is open to the public unless they're practicing. See their forum post about this here: http://www.virtualsnowbirds.com/forums/ ... .php?t=159
And make sure you get ventrilo if you don't have it, the VSB, VTB and VBA and most others use it for comms, and their vent servers can be found on their respective websites. http://www.ventrilo.com/
Teamspeak is also used by others: http://www.goteamspeak.com/
Both are free to download, install, and use, and greatly enhance your flying experience.
Occasionally there's people in Hyperlobby who fly formation also, and if you don't have Hyperlobby you can find it here: http://hyperfighter.sk/ (to download it, click on the link saying "Mirror provided by TXSQUADRON")
Hope this helps.
