Fellow aviation and formation flying enthusiasts-

As some of you may know, or as some of you may not already know, Schwans Inc. (owner of Red Baron Pizza) has decided to pull the sponsorship of the Red Baron Pizza Squadron, who fly a 4 ship Stearman formation routine. Ordinarily, a team would find new sponsors and move on. However, Schwans owns everything the teams have, including the planes.

A petition has been started at Airshowbuzz.com by Ed Shipley (founder of ASB) to keep the growing corporate giant that is Schwans from pulling the rug out from under these American aviation icons. Please sign it!

When the economy slips advertising is the first thing to get cut. Its a shame b/c its the companies with foresight that advertise more during a recession to gain market share while their competitors run and hide.

Is there anything else we can do besides sign a petition. Has anyone quoted an annual budget? Maybe we can help spread the word that a functioning 4-Ship demo team is available for purchase.

Maybe Kraft foods, who owns "Tombstone" pizza can pick them up?

As many Schwans trucks I see running around, its hard to believe they cant facilitate an operation that has 8 aircraft total only running 4 at a time, especially when airshows have to PAY them to come to their show (en route fuel, hotel expenses, fuel used during the show, food, etc). Something doesn't add up here.
