Question about LOFC

Post by Rage » Wed Apr 11, 2007 1:29 am

Hey VTBs and everyone else. I have a question (noobish) but meh. I got LOMAC about a month ago, finally had a computer that could play it, plus I always loved flight sims. I have a few friends who play LOMAC, but arn't interested in getting FC. I've heard alot of cool things in FC, including less bugs, more realistic, and what not. Now, what I heard was, if I get FC, I couldn't play LOMAC with my old friends. Is this true? If it is, I don't really want to get it, but if I can, I would LOVE to get FC! 8)

Quite simple... LOMAC is the original version (ver 1.0 with patches 1.01 and 1.02), FC or Flaming Cliffs is an add-on to LOMAC (ver 1.1 with patches 1.11, 1.12 and 1.12a). Each instance brings the sim to a new build and makes it incompatible with earlier builds (releases). Soon (?), BC or Black Shark will be released and bring the build to version 1.2. You need to have the same version number to connect via multiplayer!

Now, if your friends are already using the original LOMAC, I see no reason for them not to get Flaming Cliffs since is dirt cheap nowadays and the amount of fixes and improvements are vast. :!: :?

They refuse to get it :x Thanks for the quick reply though LD, guess I'll have to stick with the original LOMAC :( Although, they want to get Black Shark, because it looks awesome, guess they'll have to get it then :)

ED announced about a month ago that BS was being pushed back again due to the Dev team focusing on an A-10 sim for the Air National Guard. So I'd expect it no sooner than this holiday season but if I were a bettin man I'd predict another 10-12 months until release at best.
