W0W! :D wish I was him!

I got an article on our forums of federal officials taking 4 un-commissioned F-14A's with just radar and engines missing. The dumb*** Navy guy that was supposed to make sure they were de-mil'ed just sold them for $2-4,000 each  back in 1999 and sooo yeah if I heard of some none working F-14's being sold for that much than hell, I would chop one and use its cockpit for LOMAC :D and then have another one for a toy :D and guess what the best part about them having no engines......my cousin has access to anything Pratt & Whitney engine related  :D :D

Not to go OT on my own topic not three posts down but are you sure about that F-14 price Tailhook? I mean that would be a bargain at 100X the price.

That's pretty crazy, further into the article is has one dealer buying a frame for $5k then turning around and selling it for $50k. Too bad big brother had to step in and seize them. If I got my hands on one I'd be keeping it a secret that's for sure.

Back on topic, I have to wonder how long it took to that Ozzie to build that rig and what his electric bill is like.

He started in 1998 so over eight years.

I thank god for mad men such as these.... no doubt he has had ten thousand people tell him great reasons why he shouldn't do it... he just ignored them and followed his dream.

I salute you sir!! You magnificent bastard!!!!

Nice to hear the update. Last time I heard about this (maybe 3-5 years ago) he was just getting to the point where motion was all that was left.
