Already got my copy. My desktop is down for a bit so I tried running it on my laptop. Let's just say I can't wait for my desktop to be working again!

What kind of performance are you getting RB? Striker is running dual 7800GTs in SLi with an AMD FX series CPU and he's still getting single digit frames with everything maxed @ 1600x1200.

We've been getting the feeling that w/o DX10 FSX is only half a game.

You need to have 2 G of ram.........regardless, FSX is a RAM eater. I am going to pick up my copy tomorrow, and i just upgraded to 3 G last night, so I will let you all know what happens. From what I am seeing on other forums, the game sucks at least 1 gig right away, so better start upgrading now, or wait until after XMAS for a new 64-bit system with Vista and DX10

Falcon56,

Well I don't have it yet, but from what I have heard and Rhino mentioned it, the game is a "Ram eater." So you will probably need to upgrade to 2 gigs of Ram.

P.S. Ram is pretty easy to change.

I've got 2 gigs of ram and dual 7900GT's running SLI to boot and its still a frame rate eater. Basically, this has got to be the most premature software release for all the flight sims that they have come out with. There are VERY few computers in this work that can run this program with great FPS with all the settings turned up. Also, I got the Deluxe edition and untill Vista and Directx10 comes out there are already so many features graphically that arent even availably yet. My two cents, if you can wait and hold off on it do it....its not worth it now. Not untill computers and all the other software come out to match it.

Falcon, I too went to CompUSA,Circuit City, and the BX and they didnt have it. I ended up getting the last copy they had at Gamestop of all places.

nVidia released new SLi drivers tweaked for Battlefield 2142, Company of Heroes, and Flight Sim X. Worth a shot.

Striker,

Have you tried playing it with almost everything turned down? I was playing with the settings after we talked the other night and I got it running great but with so so graphics. I decided to try some of the flights that come with the game and boy those were a blast! The pylon racing was great! I have yet to land the Cub on the bus but I did race Shockwave the jet truck. Right before the race starts with the jet truck you can fly around the airport while the truck gets into place and you can see the blue angels parked and you can hear the announcer in the background with some music giving an introduction to Shockwave. Over by the airshow they have some really nice large airplanes like tha AN-225 (The Dream) and some others.

I have a Mac Pro with the X1900XTX here at work and one of these days will give that a whirl with FS X and will let you all know how that works.

Just a heads up for Lock-On users, these last two nVidia driver releases, 91.40 and 91.47 introduces a bug with the pixel shaders and Lock-On's lighting. Hopefully the next update will fix that!

Well, as Rotor stated, with everything turned down, it runs quite nicely. If I could mesh the scenery detail from FS9 to FSX it would make it perfect. O well right?
