Dont exactly know why but Im pretty certain it wasnt during an airshow. Many of times to get perfect delta formation positioning it also takes another Tbird as an observer a/c to tell anyone in the delta to tighten/loosen up or whatever spacing they need to better acquire the perfect delta....usually done earlier in the season or pre-season so the team can move on from there.
