Hello everyone and happy New Year. My name is Robbie I am 14 years old and would like to get involved with the virtual thunderbirds. I am currently going through flight training and also crew a B-25 Bomber at the airshow circuit in the US. This also means that I see the Thunderbirds a lot. I am also first in my division of RC scale aerobatics. I hope i will get to fly with you guys or the real thing someday. Also, i am currently in the process of buying DCS. I have over 500hrs on FSX so i need a change. Anyways thanks.

Hi Robbie,

Happy New Year & welcome to our forums. Sounds like you're well on your way getting involved in aviation, and even behind the scenes with a vintage warbird. I'd strongly encourage you to continue competing in RC flying and striving for your goals, and as soon as you have a copy of Digital Combat Simulator (DCS), join the community and begin learning the various planes. To get a head start in formation flying I'd recommend joining the Aerobatics Online server to get familiar with formation flying in DCS and meet many likeminded fellas. That's one of the best way to get involved at an early age in the kind of precision flying that we do, and who knows, hopefully one day you'll get the opportunity to perform aerobatics in a real airplane, too. Stay focused, be humble, and never stop learning!

You can download Digital Combat Simulator today. The free download includes the Caucasus region. It also includes the flyable Russian Sukhoi Su-25T ground attack aircraft and the famous WWII North American TF-51D fighter.

It'll give you a chance to warm up and become familiar with the sim, and then you can decide which modules purchase as add-ons later.

The Thunderbird F-16C we use is a mod for the team only. We don’t sell it nor is it available to the public.
