Still unsure about a few things.....

Post by scapilot » Wed Apr 13, 2005 7:23 pm

Hey guys, just wanted to throw this out there and see where I might be misdirected. I think I've got the plane mod installed. I've done the LOMAN, and the accessory to UN rar the file, and it looks like it's taken, but I still don't even know where or how to find it IN the game. I don't know if I just pick the same ole' F-15 and have to take a look at it from the outside or what, but last night I used the loman to try and pick up a few more skins like the F-14 (a personal favorite), but I still don't even know where to find that. That's part a of my question. Onto the next subject. I heard you guys saying that a good way to train is to build a mission where you follow another guy. I tried to experiment with that today as well, and didn't get it figured out. I was able to build a mission, and put a couple of planes on the map, but the bad thing was, I couldn't fly any of them. How do I overcome that? Actually place my own plane on the map? Hit me back if anyone's got a solution to any of this. Thanks.

After installing the mod, does the initial screen after loading LOMAC with the menu on the left have any Thunderbird logo's and the F-15 replaced by a Thunderbird F-16 (aircraft picture)? If it doesn't you didn't install the mod correctly.

You will be flying the F-15 as far as the cockpit and flight model goes, it just looks like an F-16 from outside. Also, the floating over the ground is due to the fact that the F-16 is a smaller aircraft and sits closer to the ground than the F-15 that it replaced. The damage model and actual 3D model is the F-16, but we've modded it to where the cockpit location is in the correct F-16 position, but it still remains an F-15 (since there is no flyable F-16 in LOMAC).

As far as the mission editor, you'll need to sit down and experiment a little with it and there should be a fairly simple explanation of it in the manual (check both the hard copy handbook and the /doc/ folder in LOMAC's directory). You need to select "player" in the drop down box where it says "pilot skill" for a single player mission. Use "client" if creating a multiplayer mission...
