Virtual Fall Airfest - Saturday, September 26th!

Hello aviation fans everywhere! Can't wait to see some of the demonstrations that you'll likely see at VFAT 2009? Well, here is your chance! It's the 1st Annual Virtual Fall Airfest, featuring 3 brand new teams (Virtual Horsemen, Virtual Patriots Jet Team, and the Blue Eagles), as well as your 2009 Virtual Blue Angels!

The flying gets started at 5pm US Central time with the incredible P-51 demonstration team, the Virtual Horsemen from IL2.

We then switch into high performance mode with the brand new Virtual Patriots Jet Team and their gorgeous L-39 Albatrosses at 6pm.

It's then time to see exactly what FSX has to offer with some high octane Christen Eagle and Beech 18 aerobatics with the Blue Eagles, starting around 7pm.

Then, sit back, relax, and enjoy as your 2009 Virtual Blue Angels take to the skies around 8pm with a full demonstration, including a Jet Assisted Take Off from the VBA C-130, FAT ALBERT.

Some assorted flybys have been prepared, and will be thrown in whenever time permits between acts!

It should be a lot of fun and we hope you all can watch!

Tune into www.livestream.com/virtualairshows for all the action!

That's should be a very exciting show, and using three different simulators!

Will there be replays available for download? (I would have wanted to see this event, but after it was moved I can no longer make this date. I will be flying real metal tubes full of people while you guys brush wingtips in the virtual skies). Hoping to catch the action afterwards if possible...

P.S. Nice work on the poster, looks very "airshow-like"! Who's the artist?

Don't they have Wi-Fi on those big, sophisticated jets? JK of course...

Everything from the show in theory should be available from the "On Demand" function at the end of the show.

@Rhino, you may think you're joking, but of course there's Wi-Fi - and you just gave me an idea

There's a pretty good chance I'll have Wi-Fi onboard during the VH- and VPJT- timeframe, and I might be able to catch the rest on the ground in the evening.

However (and I just remembered <sigh>), my laptop battery is dead and I won't have enough time to order a new one - so I will just have to look forward to watching the "On Demand" feature later on.

I'm looking forward to watching the show. Hoping my new Gateway netbook will be able to handle the streaming video!

@LD, just confiscate a laptop from one of your PAX, or have maintenance rig up a 110 volt outlet in the cockpit for you! ;)

"Attention passengers, this is your first officer speaking. While there is no reason to be alarmed, we're having a little problem up here and need a laptop to diagnose the issue..."

I'm pretty sure like... 135.63.43a(c) says you can sequester passengers' laptops...

Are those the regs TSA go by? Because they sure seem keen on confiscating laptops from the pax! :P

@Beaker, by the way, nice work on the poster. I may need to pick your brain about a few things on it sometime. I actually opened up some books and read some Photoshup stuff today. (I tend to work/learn in bursts, then put things aside for a long time in between).

P.S. I fly Part-121... Couldn't tell you about 135-regs. 8)

Great looking poster btw. 8)

And PS, I should have known Mesa was 121! D'oh!

It's going to be a great show, we can't wait.

Every time that the channel operator "goes live" the stream is automatically saved as an "On Demand" video, this feature is automatically enabled when you create the livestream account so unless it was disabled by someone all the live videos should be available for download as a *.flv file within about a minute of stopping the stream.
