Let me get this straight. This guy is comparing the Virtual Thunderbirds and how they represent the USAF Thunderbirds to the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, and then about the creation of P-51 simulators using the same software? Not to mention he thinks "Smoke On" is filmed using a "mod" for Microsoft Flight Simulator. I'm curious to see LD's response on this.

Virtual Thunderbirds Concept

He does compare the snowbirds. :? Well, I just saw Virtual Thunderbirds Concept and I`m like, "Wo, well guess I should show this to everyone else."

@Cobra, I agree, I guess the video was to illustrate his opinion regarding the Virtual Thunderbirds and to also give a clear logistic regarding how the team flies online and what not.

@Burner, :lol:

@Tailhook, I had 2 bucks on it that you were going to somehow bring LD into this. (I accept PayPal  ) JK

@Whack, this obviously was not caused by the video was it? Or just another random statement.

I definetly agree again, that it does not clearly get to the point, but again, I saw the words Virtual Thunderbirds Concept and now I guess Burner didn't even watch the video, he just is proud to be a concept (he'll take it back after watching the video  ).

Thanks
Reid "Razor" :?: :D

P.S. Kevin (video creator) messaged me just moments ago regarding why this video was created, you'll, as I myself did, get a clearer thought of why this video was made.

Thanks... I got kind-of a blister-gram from someone thinking I'd claimed this was FSX, which isn't the case.

The project I have going into the museum here in Edmonton will communicate between users via IP chat and SimConnect, so the kids will be able to try formation rejoins with a little panel 300x300 pixels displaying rate of closure and such.

I'm wondering what success folks have had with FSX formation. I have Sabres, Tutors and Super Hornets in mind.

Cheers,
Kevin

@Kevin, if you talk to him - You can do formation in FSX, just not formation aerobatics.

@Burner- I invited Kevin to the forums. At which he then accepted my invitation and is now apart of the forums :)

To clarify, Kevin sent me this (it will tell you why he compared the snowbirds with VTB):
Kevin wrote: Hi...

Thanks very much for the invite... I'll take you up on that.

As it happens, I have had one hop with the real Snowbirds when they were on workups in Comox, BC about 1993 or so.

Speedy Fast, Mike Scubitzki, and Yogi Hougibert are a couple of their past team I've flown with; the first two were on T-33's with my unit in the early 80's.

We had a four-plane there and did summer shows from Texas to Miramar (out of Cold Lake, Alberta) but most shows were in Western Canada.

Being CF-trained, I have about 220 hrs on the Tutor getting my wings in '83... now my kids are in the Air Cadets so this is wrapped up more so with that idea.

Also, MEDEVAC angle -- M*A*S*H -- for the helicopter crowd, with the Bell 412. (Canada's military calls that a "Griffon".)

I'll join the chat ASAP.

Bye for now,

Kevin
