Smoke On download
Hey Guys,
I recently went to your website because someone posted about you on our forums, http://www.vusaf.org, I tried to download the Smoke on Video, but once I do it says that there is nothing to extract from the .zip file. Just thought you should know. Plus I also would love to put it on a DVD to watch on my 47" TV.lol
Thanks

I'm sorry you had problems with the download (I understand it's quite big and time consuming to try to download more than once). I just tried the download link myself via our movies page and the unpacking of the zip-file worked fine for me. The Smoke On feature is hosted @ JaBoG32's site, but we'll try to move it over to our own server soon (whenever I find time to upload another gigabyte
).
If you don't want to try downloading Smoke On again, I'd suggest downloading our VFAT '07 feature. It's newer and the main difference between it and Smoke On is that everything seen in it was flown in front of a live audience (and in real time). Here's a link where you can download the VFAT '07 movie.
Enjoy and welcome to our forums!
P.S. I checked out the vUSAF forums. If you want to copy the link to our VFAT '07 movie to this thread or a new one, feel free to and if anyone has questions, "How To", you guys know where to find us. Reading the thread, one statement is very true; it takes a huge amount of coordination and practice (not just motor skills, but timing and choreography too) to put together the demo with live comms, SOP, narration & music as well as sound flying. Thanks again for stopping by.

I tried it again and it still did not work. When you download it, is the file extension .zip or something else, and if you do not know what in the world I am talking about, go to control panel-->menu bar, tools-->folder options-->view-->and uncheck "hide extensions for known file types. Now at the end of the file name where you download it it should have .__ . Let me know what is in the blank.

It's a .zip file. I did a test DL and I'm not having any problems with it either.
I use winrar for file compression/decompression. If you're using winzip or pkzip or the decompression tool that came with windows you might give winrar a try. You should be able to google it and find a free download somewhere on the web.

I did it once again. I tried it with WINRAR and WINZIP. It just isn't working for some reason. Maybe there is an alternate method that we could use just this once. You could host it on http://www.driveway.com so I can download it or something. It is up to you. By the way driveway is free. It would be nice if someone could send me an E-mail and let me know what is going on.
Thanks
Thanks
I have no idea why the archive will not open properly for you, yet the same file works fine for me and others. Have you tried it on a different computer, different connection? Either way, once I find time, I'll upload Smoke On and host the download via our own server as I mentioned in my previous post (driveway is a moot point, as our server would be a better choice). I'm on the road and once I get back home, I'll need time to upload it to our webhost - until then, it appears the problem is not the file, nor the JaBoG32 hosting site.

Guaranteed to work, set, checked, tested, confirmed, verified and authenticated...
Smoke On is is now hosted from our own server and the movie page updated with the new link. You may need to refresh and delete your cache...

Hi
Speaking of Smoke on, ( my fav video for flight sim ) I was wondering what camera tools was used to make the video.
There are many shots where the camera move around the aicrafts, moving IN and OUT very smoothly. Well I know that the Slew mod option cannot do it like that... so I was wondering
I do videos for Flight sim too, I'm far from doing quality video such as smoke on, but I love the learning experience; so if a member of the Virtual Thunderbirds who helped or did the editing of the video could answer my question I would really appreciate it!
I did this video for Fly Tampa if you are interested:
