Post by lqcorsa » Tue Sep 06, 2005 1:21 am

I have Lock-on Gold, I purchased it on September 5th. It does not work at all, when I start flying my frame rate is like 0.01%, No textures load, when I look around I buch of black stuff comes up and makes it so I cant see, there are no graphics, the panel is black with no gauges, the groound is all blury, everything is gone! Can this be fixed? Thankyou.

What are your PC specs?

And if they are adequate then you will be able to get better tech support here:

okay I called the ubisoft guys and they said that it was happening because my video controller was bad, but I just got a new pc... My video controller is a Intel 828656 Graphics controller. He said something like a ATM Radion 9000 would work. I dont know if I can download an upgrade for free or if I have to spend a million dollars. Anybody got any tips? If you could, post your video controller in reply to this so I get can a idea on what kind I will need to play. If you dont know how to do this you can go to start, run, in the run window type dxdiag then press okay. Now click on the display tab when the new window comes up and it will be in the device box, just enter the name of it.

Thankyou

You need probably a 128mb and up Graphic card at least to run it decent. ATI or Nvidia is your pick.

ATI 9800XT 256mb
ATI X850XT 256Mb

both run good with lomac but it depends on your budget.

But like Burner said lockon.ru is your best bet.

Sounds like onboard graphics to me, I researched the chip and I know it is a 64Mb controller/card. That is just plain not enough to run this game. A Radeon 9000 would be a minimum and really you want at least a 9600 or 9800.

This is what I'd recommend, best bang for your buck.

Be sure you have an AGP slot b/f you buy though.

I'd suggest the 6600GT chip from Nvidia or if you have more $$ the 6800GT. Both have been lowered substancially in price since the release of the Nvidia 7800GT...

A few to be found on the "front page" of Neweggs video section.

I'll echo all of the above. BUT, even w/ my setup (which I admit is not awesome but is better than what you've got there)...my gauges periodically disappeared during flight. I suggest getting newest drivers for whatever you are running. This is basic I know, but it helped the problem 98%. Good luck to you.
